Burn going on a cruise with Rough Francis; Death have a new song

NYHC greats Burn returned last year with their Kurt Ballou-produced Do or Die LP on Deathwish, technically their first full length after releasing four EPs over the course of 27 years, and a very good one at that. They'll be touring Europe in March, and upon returning home, Burn will set sail aboard a Rocks Off Cruise in their hometown on April 8.

The cruise is aboard The Harbor Lights and it departs from Skyport Marina - East 23rd Street & FDR Drive. Doors are at 6 PM. Opening are local staples Primitive Weapons, and Rough Francis, the band led by the three sons of Bobby Hackney of legendary protopunk band Death (who members of Rough Francis now also play in). Tickets go on sale Friday (2/16) at noon. All Burn dates are listed below.

Speaking of Death, the Detroit proto-punk legends just released a new single, "Give It Back," which was originally written by Bobby Hackney in 1979 and re-recorded in 2017. It's another dose of that classic Death fury, and a little brighter/catchier than some other Death classics. Listen below. It's coming out as a 7" on February 21, backed by "Playtime" from 2015's N.E.W. (pre-order).
