Burn prep LP with Kurt Ballou, playing w/ Vanishing Life; Dead Heavens touring

Post-hardcore OGs Burn returned earlier this year with the From The Ashes EP, their first release since 2001, and now they revealed that a full length is on the way. They’re in the studio with Converge guitarist/producer Kurt Ballou, which is of course a great fit. Frontman Chaka Malik revealed the news by posting the above Instagram. As revealed in another Instagram, the album is coming out on Deathwish.
Burn have been touring this year, having just played a hometown show at Saint Vitus last month, and now they have another NYC show coming up this month. They were added as a headliner to the Studio at Webster Hall show (11/13) that fellow NYHC veteran Walter Schreifels‘ band Vanishing Life are playing. That’s also with Neaux and Red Hymns. Tickets are still available. It’s Burn’s only upcoming US date at the moment, but as mentioned, they tour Europe with Suicidal Tendencies, Agnostic Front, Municipal Waste and others next year. There’s also a Toronto show.
Walter’s psych band Dead Heavens also scheduled another NYC show, which happens December 17 at Union Pool (tickets). That’s right after they return from a West Coast tour with Strokes side project CRX. All dates are listed below.
