Buzzcocks: the Devoto years

One of 1977’s finest records, punk or otherwise, is Buzzcocks‘ debut EP, Spiral Scratch: loud, angsty, sneery, sex-obsessed, and catchy as hell. (“Boredom” is one of punk’s all-time great songs.) For its 40th anniversary, Spiral Scratch is getting reissued on vinyl by Domino Records. Along with it comes a vinyl release of acclaimed bootleg Time’s Up which collected all the early demos made by the band’s original lineup which included soon-to-depart lead vocalist Howard Devoto. Both will be out March 10 and pre-orders are available now.

Both Spiral Scratch and Time’s Up are also part of a box set called Buzzcocks MK1 which comes with some pretty cool stuff for fans:

  • Spiral Scratch 7″ (Standard Edition) Vinyl, CD
  • Time’s Up Heavyweight 12″ Vinyl, CD
