Industrial pioneers Cabaret Voltaire are back and set to play their first live show in 22 years at the Berlin Atonal Festival on August 23. For this show, Cabaret Voltaire will exist “solely of machines, multi-screen projections and Richard H Kirk.” And before you get excited about hearing “Nag Nag Nag” and “Do The Mussolini,” do know that this show will feature “exclusively new material and no nostalgia.” The Berlin Atonal Festival runs August 20 – 24 and also features Tim Hecker, Donato Dozzi & Nuel, a tribute concert to Steve Reich and lots more. Tickets are on sale.

For those unfamiliar with the Cabaret Voltaire or for those wanting to indulge in some nostalgia, Mute Records just released a new CV compilation titled #7885 (Electropunk To Technopop 1978 – 1985) which handily collects some of the band’s best — and best known — songs. You can stream it via Rdio below.
