NYC metal/jazz/hip-hop genre-pushers Candiria reunited back in 2015, playing AfroPunk and Black and Blue Bowl among other stuff. Now they have announced a new LP, their first since reuniting, and five NYC shows to go along with that release. The new album is called While They Were Sleeping, and it hits on October 7 via Metal Blade. They've shared the first song from the concept album (which follows a struggling NYC artist rising up against a monarchy) called "Mereya," and you can listen to that here:

They've also announced 5 NYC shows, one in each borough, which they're terming a "world tour." These shows go down five straight days in October and feature some excellent support. They kick off in Manhattan with a show at Arlene's Grocery on October 7 with Cavallo. Then they hit Queens at Blackthorn 51 on October 8 with Car Bomb and The Last Stand. The next night they play Staten Island with a show at Mother Pugs Saloon on October 9 where they'll be joined by Tombs and Meek is Murder. The Bronx is represented on October 11 at Alfie's Place with Billy Club Sandwich and Circuit of Suns. And finally they close things out in Brooklyn with a show at Black Bear Bar on October 12 with Dalek and Husbandry. Tickets for all 5 shows will be on sale soon.

They're planning on heading out on a more extensive US tour soon. For now check out the NYC dates here.
