Car Seat Headrest played Market Hotel (pics, setlist), playing 'Fallon' tonight

Car Seat Headrest played a one-off show at Brooklyn’s Market Hotel on Tuesday night (5/8). It was the NYC debut of the new seven-piece lineup of the band, featuring two drummers, three guitarists, a bassist and main man Will Toledo, who spent most of the show sans instrument. They kicked off their set with a cover of Devo’s “Uncontrollable Urge” and then played “Cute Thing” and “Bodys” from Twin Fantasy, the 2011 album which the band rerecorded this year. Their set also included Teens of Denial faves “Destroyed by Hippie Powers” and “Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales,” and they worked in Neil Young & Crazy Horse’s “Powderfinger” into “Sober to Death.” Check out pictures from the Market Hotel show, including ones of openers Gold Connections, in the gallery above, and you can check out setlist and fan-shot video below.

Will and the band will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon tonight (5/9) where they’ll perform “Bodys.” CSH will be back in New York in September for two shows at Brooklyn Steel. All tour dates are listed below.

CSH’s expanded live lineup includes the members of Naked Giants, who play their own NYC show on Thursday (5/10) at Alphaville with Native Sun and Twiga (tickets).
