Carcass

Carcass share outtake from first new album in 7 years (which is due in 2020)

Death metal legends Carcass will release their first new album in seven years in 2020 via Nuclear Blast (which will be the followup to their killer 2013 comeback album Surgical Steel), and while we wait for more details on that, they’ve uploaded their first new song in six years, “Under the Scalpel Blade,” to streaming services. The track is an outtake from the sessions for their upcoming album, and it originally came out as a Decibel flexi-disc. If this is your first time hearing it, be warned: it is an absolute ripper. Carcass’ Jeff Walker says:

It’s always difficult trying to decide what new song to expose people to, especially given an absence of nearly seven years???? With that in mind here’s a slow throw away number we cobbled together, and NO the title was NOT plagiarized from the DISORDER album of the same title before you ask!

Decibel are also promising that Carcass will make the live debut of the song at the 2019 LA edition of Decibel Metal & Beer Fest, which begins tonight (12/13) and which Carcass headline on Saturday (12/14). Carcass also play Power Trip‘s Evil Beat 2 festival in Dallas in January, and they’re touring Australia after that. All dates are listed below.
