Caribou shares first new single in five years, announces 2020 tour

While Dan Snaith has released music under his Daphni moniker, he hasn’t put out any new music as Caribou since 2014’s Our Love (which Pitchfork just called the 89th best album of the decade). That drought ends today with the release of new single “Home,” a soulful track that samples Gloria Barnes’ 1971 song of the same name. “I’m always listening to lots of music and sometimes a loop just jumps out at me – it’s too perfect,” says Dan. “That’s how it was with Gloria Barnes’ ‘Home’ – I kept returning to it, meaning to do something with it but not knowing what. Sometimes making music feels like a process I’m in charge of … but there are other times, when things just present.” Listen to “Home” below.
