Back in May, two thirds of Brooklyn crossover vets Carnivore's Retaliation-era lineup, Marc Carnivore and Louie Beato (RIP Peter Steele), reformed to perform Retaliation for its 30th anniversary. Now Marc and Louie have announced that they're officially reforming the band as "Carnivore A.D.," with Joe Branciforte (ex-Merauder, ex-Darkside NYC) sharing drumming duties with Louie and Baron Misuraca (ex-Vasaria) on lead vocals and bass.

The band's first show as Carnivore A.D. will be on Halloween at Bowery Electric, and it's named after the band's fallen frontman: "A Halloween SteeleTacular." The lineup also includes NJ's Bloodfeast, Black Sabbath tribute band Sabbra Cadabra, and former L'Amour DJ Alex Kayne (who authored the recent L'Amour book), plus special guests TBA. Tickets are on sale. Watch a video of "Jesus Hitler" from the May show, below.

Speaking of new bands with members of bands that Peter Steele fronted, Type O Negative members Kenny Hickey (also of Seventh Void) and Johnny Kelly (also of Danzig) have formed a new band called Silvertomb with Hank Hell (Seventh Void, Inhuman), Joseph James (Agnostic Front, Inhuman), and Aaron Joos (Awaken the Shadow, Empyreon). Their live debut was at NJ's Starland Ballroom this past Saturday (8/26), which was a benefit for Ride For Dime, "a 501 (c) 3 charitable organization that honors the lives of guitar hero and friend, "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, Jeff Thompson, Nathan Bray, and Erin Halk." You can listen to a clip of a Silvertomb song below.

In one last bit of related news, Marc Carnivore is also leading Circus of Steele, "an all-original group formed in tribute to [Peter Steele]," and they will open the NYC stop of thrash vets Sacred Reich's tour, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of their 1987 debut album Ignorance. That show is on September 24 at Gramercy Theatre and also includes Byzantine on the bill (tickets). Watch a Circus of Steele video and stream Sacred Reich's Ignorance below.
