Caspian Cabot

Caspian debuted new songs at orchestral show; Philip lists his top 10 LPs of 2019

Beverly, Massachusetts post-rock greats Caspian recently announced their first album in over four years, On Circles (due January 24 via Triple Crown), and a couple days later they performed two very special hometown shows (matinee and night show) at gorgeous theater The Cabot with the Losander Chamber Orchestra. The setlist was the same at both shows (except the late show got an encore), and included the live debuts of a handful of the new songs. Going by fan-shot videos, they looked and sounded massive. Check out some video clips and the full setlist below.

Meanwhile, as the year is ending, we asked Caspian guitarist/keyboardist Philip Jamieson what his ten favorite albums of 2019 were, and he sent a list that includes big Caspian influences (and past tourmates) The Appleseed Cast as well as Appleseed Cast-related band Heartscape Landbreak, fellow Mass band and past tourmates Defeater, and other cool stuff like Tycho, Blanck Mass, Kate Tempest, Bon Iver, Glassing, and more. Check out his full list below.

Caspian will celebrate On Circles with a 2020 tour that hits NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge on April 8 (tickets). All dates are listed below.

Here’s the new album’s lead single:
