Caveman released first new record in 4 years (watch their new video)
It’s been a while since we’ve heard from NYC indie vets Caveman, whose last album, Otero War, came out in 2016. It’s a tough time for a return but they’re back and quietly dropped a new EP, New Sides, at the start of May. Their warm, synth-heavy dreampop vibe — which melts into frontman Matthew Iwanusa’s smooth vocals — is still in fine form on these four tracks. Check it out below.
We’ve got the premiere of the video for New Sides‘ anthemic lead track, “You Got a Feeling.” “This song is kind of about the anxiety of feeling trapped in a situation. Sort of a cabin fever type thing,” Matthew tells us. “I filmed it all in Brooklyn but was able to get my friend to film his cabin where he was. Seemed fitting for how the world is right now.” Watch the video below.
Matthew and bandmates James Carbonetti and Jeff Berrall are finishing up work on their fourth album which will be out in 2021.
