Cavity half-reunited during Black Cobra's Miami show (video); Black Cobra / Lo-Pan tour underway (updated dates)

Black Cobra are currently on tour with Lo-Pan, and they brought out some old jams last night (9/8) in Miami. Guitarist Jason Landrian reunited with his old Cavity bandmate Daniel Gorostiaga for two of that band’s songs during the encore. According to the YouTube description, “This was a sight to behold. After Black Cobra ripped through their set, Daniel Gorostiaga joined them onstage to play two Cavity songs, “Crawling” and “Supercollider.” All things considered, this is the closest thing we’ve had to a Cavity reunion in years.” Gorostiaga and Landrian both played on Cavity’s 2001 record On the Lam, the band’s final album. Cavity’s lineup at one point also included Steve Brooks and Juan Montoya, who later formed Floor and then Torche. Both of those bands are currently active. Floor put out a new LP and wrapped up a tour earlier this year, and Torche are planning on releasing an album in 2015 and will be touring sooner than that, hitting NYC on September 27 at Saint Vitus with Broughton’s Rules (tickets).

The Black Cobra / Lo-Pan tour has plenty more dates coming up through October too, including a NYC show on September 18 at Saint Vitus with Kings Destroy and Godmaker, which Invisible Oranges is presenting (tickets). Then, on September 19, the two will play the second night of Uninvited Festival, an absolutely loaded event that will be particularly appealing to stoners.
