Cayetana recently put out a teaser video revealing that their anticipated sophomore album New Kind of Normal would be out this year. Now more details and the first single are here. The album drops on May 5 and it comes out via Cayetana's newly-formed label Plum Records ("an independent record label, founded and run by women, rock and roll without compromise"). Cayetana's debut album was on Tiny Engines.

The first single is "Mesa," which first came out on the band's split with Camp Cope. The song is a dose of jangly mid-tempo indie rock that's led by Augusta Koch's unmistakable voice and Allegra Anka's basslines that often work more like lead guitar (this is a band who take influence from New Order). It now has a video, directed by Adam Peditto. Check it out, along with the album artwork, below (via NPR).

Cayetana are on tour now with Lemuria and Mikey Erg. They just played NYC (pics HERE), and they have more dates through early March. Updated tour schedule below.
