Charmer

Charmer made us a playlist, discuss life as a band in self-isolation

With the coronavirus outbreak causing many people to stay at home as much as possible, we’ve been asking musicians what music they’re listening to in isolation, and this one comes from Michigan emo band Charmer, whose sophomore album Ivy comes out next week (4/3) via No Sleep (pre-order).

Vocalist/guitarist David Daignault put together the playlist, which includes music by Title Fight, Dogleg, Del Paxton, Mannequin Pussy, Slow Mass, You Blew It!, Sparta, now-defunct Code Orange offshoot Adventures, and more, and he also told us the following about the playlist and life in quarantine:

We’re all very excited for Ivy to come out on April 3rd. None of us have seen each other the past couple weeks so it’ll be weird in that sense. We went from rehearsing several times a week for our release shows to being scattered around the Upper Peninsula of Michigan locked down in quarantine. In the meantime I’ve been revisiting a lot of my favorite albums and some new [ones] while writing quite a bit so I made a playlist of a collection of songs from those albums.
