Chris Duncan

Glasgow resident Chris Duncan, who records under the name C Duncan and also has a soundcloud page under the name Mr. Duncan, got his degree in composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where he studied classical music, and since then he’s spent his time writing pop songs. He personally refers to his music as Ditsy Doo-da because he describes it as “quite whimsical and dream-like,” and the songs make a pretty good case for that. His sound contains oddities similar to Animal Collective (who he names as an influence), Battles, or Sufjan Stevens, but it’s clear that his influences aren’t only contemporary. There’s an old soul to his songs that has its roots in the pre-rock ‘n’ roll era of pop music.

C Duncan has a few demos online that you can stream below. He hasn’t announced plans for an official album or tour yet, but when he does, but FatCat Records uploaded his demo, “For,” to their demo site, so there’s something.
