Christine & The Queens cancel Coachella set following mother's death
Christine & The Queens have cancelled their Saturday, 4/20 set at weekend two of Coachella 2019 following the death of Héloïse Adelaide Letissier’s mother. Héloïse’s tweet sharing the news, written in French, translates to, “I can only write very simple sentences. I lost my mother on Tuesday night. I came home to go through this ordeal with my loved ones-I won’t be able to sing this Saturday. I kiss you.”
As mentioned, Christine & The Queens also cancelled their Santa Barbara Bowl show with Blood Orange on Thursday, and their scheduled Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance on Tuesday, though no reason was given at the time.
Our thoughts and sympathies are with Héloïse and her family.
Je n’arrive qu’à écrire des phrases très simples. J’ai perdu ma mère dans la nuit de mardi. Je suis rentrée pour traverser cette épreuve avec mes proches – je ne pourrai pas chanter ce samedi. Je vous embrasse.
