Christopher Tignor releasing 'Along a Vanishing Plane' (watch the "Dead Letter Library" video)

Electronic/acoustic composer Christopher Tignor is following 2014’s Thunder Lay Down In The Heart with his third album, Along a Vanishing Plane, on September 16 via Western Vinyl (pre-order). That album includes the ten-minute “Dead Letter Library,” which is a gorgeous dose of modern classical that should appeal even to people who don’t normally listen to that kind of thing. We’ve got the premiere of the video, which has clips of Christopher performing the song with a violin, a kick drum, and a laptop running sound-altering software that he himself designed. Check it out above.

Christopher will celebrate the new album with a release show at NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge on September 2 with Dronechoir (aka Arone Dyer of Buke & Gase). Tickets for that show are on sale now.

The NYC musician’s only other scheduled show at the moment is opening for his old pals This Will Destroy You at the first of their two Bowery Ballroom shows (11/20). That one’s sold out, but night two (11/21) with Young Widows is still on sale. As discussed, both shows will have TWDY playing Young Mountain and their s/t LP in full.
