City Winery's final month on Varick St: Wallflowers, Okkervil River, Bettye LaVette, more

City Winery is getting ready to close its Varick St location at the end of July and move to its new Pier 57 digs. The final nights at Varick will feature some special shows. Joan Osborne plays the final night, July 31 (tickets), and The Wallflowers do two nights before that, July 29 & 30 – tickets for those dates go on sale June 5 for VinoFile members and June 7 for the general public. Also playing in the Loft on July 31 is Lera Lynn (tickets).

Marissa Nadler plays The Loft on July 13 (tickets). Bettye LaVette plays City Winery’s main room on July 15 (tickets), Okkervil River play early and late shows on July 17 (tickets), and The Blasters’ Dave Alvin plays July 21 (tickets).

Meanwhile, tonight (5/30) at City Winery is an intimate evening with Rufus Wainwright (sold out), while in the Loft is a tribute to Amy Winehouse featuring Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, and Alexis Fishman who will be performing the show “Amy Winehouse: Resurrected” (tickets benefit The Amy Winehouse Foundation).
