Road to Ruin

CJ, Richie & more celebrating 'Road to Ruin' at Joey Ramone Birthday Bash 2018

Like every year, the late, great Joey Ramone‘s birthday will be celebrated with the ‘Joey Ramone Birthday Bash’ concert, and since the show’s usual home of Webster Hall is currently closed for renovations, this year it moves to Bowery Electric on May 19. Like last year, later period Ramones CJ and Richie are playing, and like the past two years, the 2018 birthday bash will double as the 40th anniversary celebration for one of the Ramones’ classic albums. 2016 was the self-titled debut, 2017 was both Leave Home and Rocket to Russia, and this year is Road to Ruin (home of “I Wanna Be Sedated,” “Don’t Come Close,” “I Just Want To Have Something To Do,” and more).

The lineup also includes Ramones producer Ed Stasium, Joey Ramone’s brother Mickey Leigh, and more TBA. Tickets are on sale now and “all net proceeds benefit the Joey Ramone Foundation for Lymphoma Research.”
