Cloud Nothings Last Building Burning

Cloud Nothings announce new LP & tour, share "The Echo of the World"

Cloud Nothings have already announced a followup to 2017’s Life Without Sound, due out October 19 via Carpark, making this their shortest gap between albums since their 2011 self-titled and their 2012 breakthrough Attack On Memory. Life Without Sound was Cloud Nothings’ calmest sounding album since their shift towards post-hardcore on Attack On Memory, but going by new single “The Echo of the World,” it looks like new album Last Building Burning is not going to follow suit. This is one of their noisiest, most spastic songs in years, with their not-so-secret weapon Jayson Gerycz losing his mind behind the kit, and frontman Dylan Baldi delivering his most piercing screams since “Wasted Days.” “I’m obsessed with the idea of energy at the moment,” Dylan says. That’s how I thought of this record: seven short, and one long, bursts of intense, controlled chaos. I wanted to make that come across in a way that can actually be felt.” Listen below.

Cloud Nothings also announced a tour, including a Brooklyn show on December 1 at Warsaw. That’s part of a run with support from Canadian indie pop band The Courtneys. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday (8/17) at 10 AM. All dates are listed below.
