The 2019 edition of Coachella kicked off on Friday (4/12) at Indio, CA's Empire Polo Club. As we mentioned, the day's special guests included Cardi B, Selena Gomez, and Ozuna, who all came out during DJ Snake's set. Kacey Musgraves, who said "I've been yeehaw all my life" from the stage before leading the crowd in a "I say yee, you say haw" call and response, brought out 90-year-old instagram star Baddie Winkle during the last song of her set, "High Horse." Janelle Monae's set also featured a couple of guests: Lizzo (who performs on Sunday), and Tierra Whack (who performed earlier in the day). Both came out during "Juice;" watch video of Janelle and Lizzo's twerk-off below.

Friday at Coachella also included sets from Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Beach Fossils, k-pop group BLACKPINK (playing their first full-length concert in America), Charlotte Gainsbourg, dvsn, Ella Mai, Hurray for the Riff Raff, JPEGMAFIA, Kero Kero Bonito, Khruangbin, Let's Eat Grandma, Rosalia, SOPHIE, The 1975, The Frights, U.S. Girls, headliner Childish Gambino, and more.
