Colleen

Colleen announces new album & US tour, shares "Separating"

Colleen

Art pop artist Colleen (aka Cecile Schott) is following 2015’s very good Captain of None with A flame my love, a frequency on October 20 via Thrill Jockey. For this album, she abandoned the viola da gamba she usually uses in favor of all electronic instrumentation (Moog pedals and Critter and Guitari synthesizers). The lead single is the seven-and-a-half minute “Separating,” and it’s indicative of the new electronic direction. She delivers her delicate vocals atop hypnotic, arpeggiating synths. It’s a low-key but still very gripping listen. Check it out, with the album artwork and tracklist, below.

Colleen is touring the US this fall, including dates at the new Zebulon LA, Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art, and more. She plays Brooklyn on November 8 at Good Room. Tickets for that show are on sale.
