Country singer Colter Wall brought his tour with Jade Bird to NYC’s Bowery Ballroom last night (4/11). The tour is in continued support of his 2017 ’70s-inspired, Dave Cobb-produced self-titled debut album, and Colter did a handful of songs from that album including “Motorcycle,” which got a huge response from the crowd. He also did one of his Townes Van Zandt covers, and played a few songs solo.

Jade Bird opened and she clearly had people who showed up just for her, which isn’t surprising. As we witnessed at SXSW, Jade is already super professional and she seems like she’s on her way to becoming much more popular. It was a great double bill, and pictures of both acts are in the gallery above.

You can catch Jade Bird in NYC again at the Americana Music Association’s tribute concert to pioneering women of Americana at Music Hall of Williamsburg on May 9. Jade is part of a lineup (that also includes Courtney Marie Andrews, Craig Finn, Amy Helm, The Barr Brothers, and more) who will cover songs by such legendary women as Dolly Parton, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, and more. Tickets are still available.
