With the coronavirus outbreak causing many people to stay at home as much as possible, we’ve been asking musicians what music they’re listening to in isolation, and this one comes from David Feck, frontman for UK indie cult heroes Comet Gain. "I'm on my 10th day of home horror," David tells us. "Which is fine...I finally worked out how to use my portastudio so I can make shitty home LPs about running out of beer etc." His isn't so much a list as a fevered dispatch from home, but includes records by The Zombies, Linda Ronstadt's band Stone Poneys, Curt Boettcher, Kyle Forster, onetime Damned member (and new wave solo artist) Henry Badowski, JR and His Soulettes and more. We included streams of something from every artist he lists, along with his missive, below.

As for non-musical stuff, David says "I've also been reading Mick Houghton's SANDY DENNY book with a pile of her records as accompanying warmth...English melancholy for the colder nights...plus a book about Marjorie Cameron called wormwood star though it's just been begun, on tv to fill the horrible gaping hole of no football (soccer) there's that Netflix doc TIGER KING -- lots of mouth open moments and lovely redneck clothing...as I'm at home I've decided to grow a multicoloured mullet in respect. it looks delicious."

Comet Gain released Fireraisers Forever! last year. You can listen to that below while we wait for their album about running out of beer.

Musically there are records everywhere ..for pure good vibes I've been digging this CURT BOETTCHER comp 'misty mirage' full of sweet California breeze for these windy London days and some STONE PONEYS LPs especially the Tim Buckley covers of "hobo' and 'wings'...I've had the chance to get my boxes of 45s out and find some cool pop drops like some weirdo post punky freakies like HENRY BADOWSKI! DOOR AND WINDOW and FIGURES OF LIGHT...and the beautiful baroque grace of APPLETREE THEATRE 'what a way to go'....also the chance to hear some of the goodies I managed to get from my work-a record shop- before we had to close our doors..THE ZOMBIES box set of LPs..which you can't go wrong with as a morale booster, TELEGRAPH AVENUE from Chile I think which is sweet and occasionally funky in that south American lysergic way and THE SOLARFLARES' 'psychedelic tantrum' -- garage mod riffery a-go-go...as nite draws in we listen to the new KYLE FORESTER LP and the gentle sounds of HEAVEN AND EARTH soft lady vibes but the best viral destroyer has been a rigorous dance round the living room to 'mamma loves tequila' by JR AND HIS SOULETTES ..dig it and stay dug. keep safe kittens."
