Concerts cancelled after Paris attacks (U2, Foo Fighters, Coldplay, Braids, Deftones, Al Gore broadcast & more)

Foo Fighters have announced the cancellation of the rest of their tour:

It is with profound sadness and heartfelt concern for everyone in Paris that we have been forced to announce the cancellation of the rest of our tour. In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders, and international mourning, we can’t continue right now. There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one.

U2 was scheduled to play a show in Paris tonight that was going to be broadcast on HBO.

As a result of the ongoing state of emergency across France, the U2 Paris concerts scheduled for the 14th and 15th November will not be going ahead as planned. U2 and Live Nation, along with HBO who were due to live broadcast the Saturday concert, are fully resolved to go ahead with this show at an appropriate time.

Speaking from Paris the band said:

“We watched in disbelief and shock at the unfolding events in Paris and our hearts go out to all the victims and their families across the city tonight.

We are devastated at the loss of life at the Eagles of Death Metal concert and our thoughts and prayers are with the band and their fans.

And we hope and pray that all of our fans in Paris are safe.”

Tonight’s live stream for TIDAL & KROQ has been postponed out of respect for the terrible events in Paris.

The 24 Hours of Reality and Live Earth concert broadcast, hosted by Al Gore, set for Friday and Saturday (November 13 and 14) in Paris, France has been cancelled. Just Jared reports:

The concert, which aimed to raised awareness about global warming, was set to feature performances in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, as well as locations around the globe.

Scheduled performers included Pharrell, Elton John, Hozier, Neil Young, Mumford and Sons, Walk the Moon, Thirty Seconds to Mars and Florence & the Machine.

The organization took to their official website to release a statement about the tragic events in Paris.

“Out of solidarity with the French people and the City of Paris, we have decided to suspend our broadcast of 24 Hours of Reality and Live Earth. Our thoughts are with all who have been affected and the entire nation of France. We send our condolences to the families of those who have been killed or injured,” the concert’s website said.

Deftones were scheduled to play three shows at the venue that Eagles of Death Metal were playing when the attack happened. It goes without saying that those are cancelled, and the band posted the following message: “Thank for all your inquiries on our well being. Band/Crew all safe and accounted for at this time. Prayers for those affected in these tragic events.”
