Coney Island Music Festival also canceled due to heatwave
This heatwave is taking its toll on outdoor events this weekend. OZY Fest is canceled, as is Saturday of PInknic, and now comes word that Coney Island Music Festival, which was to have been Saturday as well with The Feelies, Mystery Lights and more, has been canceled too. Here's the official statement: "We regret to inform you that due to the extreme heat this weekend, the city has issued a state of emergency for NYC and directed us to cancel the Coney Island Music Festival. We are working to reschedule the event in the next few weeks."
Mayor De Blasio declared a heat emergency earlier today. Stay cool, everybody.
