Full of Hell Confines

Confines remixes Full of Hell (listen); both playing NYC soon

Grind/death/noise/etc band Full of Hell recently released their great new album (and first for Relapse), Weeping Choir, and some of the songs on that album have been remixed by prominent artists like Justin Broadrick of Godflesh. We’re now premiering a remix of “Angels Gather Here” by Confines, the electronic solo project of David Castillo (who fronts the post-hardcore bands Primitive Weapons and White Widows Pact and co-owns Brooklyn’s Saint Vitus Bar). “There was no question in my mind when Castillo asked about a potential remix of a FOH song,” says frontman Dylan Walker. “I knew he would funnel the song down into something driving and hard, and hearing Angels Gather Here in this new form is something special.” Castillo takes what was originally a crushing dose of noisy sludge metal and he turns it into a gothy industrial banger built for the 3 AM dancefloor. Listen below.

Full of Hell have been on tour with Primitive Man and Genocide Pact, and that tour ends at Brooklyn’s Brooklyn Bazaar TONIGHT (6/14). The bill is rounded out by Elizabeth Colour Wheel and Limbs Bin, and it’s sold out.

Confines — who released the Geography of Nowhere 1 EP earlier this year — also has two upcoming shows: Saint Vitus on June 30 with White Ring and Pictureplane (tickets) and the NYC edition of Cold Waves fest in September, which also includes Pop Will Eat Itself, Test Dept, Severed Heads, StatiqBloom, Anatomy, and more (tickets).

And to bring things full circle, Anatomy plays the official Full of Hell afterparty at Saint Vitus at 11 PM tonight with Many Blessings. Free.
