Better Oblivion Community Center partners Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers star in the latest episode of Meet the CONAN Staff, a scripted web series from Conan O'Brien's Team Coco. In the episode, Conor, who is nerding it up a little here, introduces himself in his new role: CONAN production assistant. "Well, I sort of stumbled into the role of being the voice of the emo and indie rock movement," he says. "But that was just to pay the bills. Really, I wanted to break into late-night television production. I guess you could say I’m the Happy Gilmore of emo."

Much to the chagrin of his fellow staffers, Conor is seemingly unable to stop himself from breaking into overwrought song -- outdated Bush administration references included -- while working. He's "helped" by fellow staff members and even Conan himself, who smashes his guitar, to curb those impulses. "Everyone at Conan is super understanding and really trying to help me," he says.

Phoebe, on the other hand, gets an adoring response to her impromptu song about coffee, with fellow staffers clapping and chanting her name. "Yeah, I’ll probably do this for a while," she says, "but it’s kind of a bullshit job."

Conor Oberst recently revived Bright Eyes, who are going on a reunion tour, and working on new music.

Phoebe, meanwhile, is opening for The 1975 on their upcoming tour, and we're anticipating a new solo album from her sometime this year.
