Courtney Barnett shares sci-fi themed “Need a Little Time” video from new LP
Courtney Barnett has just shared "Need a Little Time" from her forthcoming album Tell Me How You Really Feel. It's Courtney doing what she does best: a gritty, melodic, thoughful indie rock, here almost a ballad (minus any schmaltz). The song has been set to a sci-fi themed video, featuring some Romulan-esque aliens. Director and frequent Courtney collaborator Danny Cohen says:
"Need A Little Time" has this soaring, floating feeling to it. I decided to play on the meaning of the song, Courtney needs some time away from herself (and you). I didn’t want to show Courtney leaving her friends/family/fans etc, it needed to be more metaphorical. Courtney floats through space and time, ends up in some isolated part of the universe. She finally has found some time alone, just Courtney and her guitar, singing in space without a care in the world.

Tell Me How You Really Feel will be out May 18 and Courtney's tour includes a BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival show in Prospect Park on July 25 with Julien Baker and Vagabon opening. Tickets are still available.
