Crystal Castles shows cancelled following abuse allegations; Ethan Kath responds
Earlier today, former Crystal Castles singer Alice Glass made allegations against her onetime bandmate Ethan Kath including sexual, physical and mental abuse, amongst many other things writing, “He forced me to have sex with him or, he said, I wouldn’t be allowed to be in the band anymore.” Since those allegations, most of Crystal Castles’ remaining tour dates have been canceled, reports Stereogum. Those canceled shows included the show they were supposed to play tonight (10/24) at The Observatory in Santa Ana, CA. A list of canceled dates are below.
Meanwhile Kath has responded to Glass’ allegations with a statement to Pitchfork via his attorney: “I am outraged and hurt by the recent statements made by Alice about me and our prior relationship. Her story is pure fiction and I am consulting my lawyers as to my legal options. Fortunately, there are many witnesses who can and will confirm that I was never abusive to Alice.”
