As they often do, Cymbals Eat Guitars will wrap up the year with some Christmas/New Year's week shows in the Northeast. This year they've got one in NYC and one in Allston.

The Allston show happens December 28 at Great Scott (tickets) and the NYC show happens December 29 at Bowery Ballroom (tickets). The NYC one is extra special, with an opening set from Charles Bissell of The Wrens (who he has a long-running relationship with). Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday (10/27) at noon and there's an AmEx presale for NYC starting today (10/25) at noon.

Charles Bissell also plays Union Hall on Friday (10/27) with The Paranoid Style, Choo Choo La Rouge and William Matheney (tickets). He's also one of the many musicians playing the Brainiac tribute at The Bell House on 12/9 (tickets). The Wrens' looooong-awaited followup to 2003's The Meadowlands still hasn't been released, but Charles did just hold a listening session for the album at his apartment this week. Fingers crossed that it comes out soon!
