Cyndi Lauper played 'Austin City Limits' and ACL Live (pics / setlist), expands tour including NYC holiday show

Friday was Lauper’s debut appearance on Austin’s signature musical program and her performance had the feel of an old school variety show. She split her stage time between songs from “Detour,” her album of vintage country covers that dropped earlier this year, and electrifying versions of the enduring hits that made her famous. The end effect was a fabulous demonstration of her range. – [Austin 360}
Cyndi Lauper kicked off the second leg of her tour behind Detours, her recent album of country covers, in Austin with a taping of Austin City Limits (9/10) and an ACL Live show (9/10), both at Austin’s Moody Theatre. She mixed some of those Detours covers, of course, with classic from her own catalogue. That episode will air in early 2017 but you can check pictures of Cyndi’s ACL Live show in the gallery above and the setlist (which was the same both night) below.
Meanwhile, Cyndi Lauper’s annual NYC “Home for the Holidays” show happens on December 3 at Beacon Theatre. Tickets will be on sale soon, with this year’s lineup still to be announced. All tour dates are listed below.
