While we patiently await the new Vampire Weekend album, the members are staying busy with other projects. VW drummer Chris Tomson recently released his debut album as Dams of the West, Youngish American, and he's since made a video for "Flag on the Can." Here's what Chris tells us about that video:

The video for Flag on the Can was inspired by the something I once saw at McDonald's restaurant #7147 (3200 S Dixie Hwy, Miami, FL 33133). It was December 26th and I was very much looking forward to enjoying a sausage McMuffin combo with orange juice and a hash brown. As I neared the restaurant, though, I saw an employee carefully removing the letters of their particular season's greeting from underneath the Golden Arches (which I believe was something to the effect of "Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from McDonald's!" which was v sweet of them). Watching each grab of the employee's extendo-claw tool slowly erasing the message and replacing it with something about their new All Day Breakfast menu, I thought "Huh." Many 🙏to Edward, Nathan and Dave for really making it happen!

You can see just how Chris's McDonald's experience inspired this new video -- it premieres below.
