We recently mentioned that Vampire Weekend drummer Chris Tomson is -- like several VW members -- going solo. His project, which is called Dams of the West, will play a NYC show this Friday (12/2) at C'mon Everybody (325 Franklin Ave). Chris is backed by a four-piece band live, and the openers are All The Roses (members of Snowmine) and Atlas Engine. Tickets are on sale now.

Chris is releasing the first Dams of the West album next year, titled Youngish American (produced by Black Keys' Patrick Carney), and the lead single "Death Wish" is out now. Watch its video below.

It's also rumored that Vampire Weekend are now on Columbia and that we can expect their fourth album in 2017.
