Dan Deacon playing Death By Audio tonight after an exorcism by Prince Rama (only 10 nights left!)
There are only TEN NIGHTS LEFT at Death By Audio, the DIY Williamsburg venue closing to make way for Vice to move in. Eight of those ten nights were explicitly advertising secret guests (until a minute ago). You can browse the full schedule below.
Big names who have already come in to help the venue shut down in style include Parquet Courts, Deerhoof, Woods, Screaming Females, Ted Leo, Speedy Ortiz, Dirty on Purpose, JEFF the Brotherhood, and venue co-founders and residents A Place to Bury Strangers. It is of course possible that any one of them could play again in the next ten days (especially the residents), but it is more likely that Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, Future Islands and other bands who have a history with the space will pop in, such as.... DAN DEACON who is now 100% confirmed for tonight's show (11/13). Check out the poster above.
Dan, who recently led a dance contest with "team Death By Audio" while opening for Arcade Fire at Barclays Center, will make people dance after a "special interactive dance performance by Prince Rama who have revealed their set involves an exorcism. Before that is the great Cloud Becomes Your Hand who are known to work in some interpretive dance of their own, and the night opens with performance artist Mr. Transylvania.
