Daniel Johnston's artwork featured on new Vans & No-Comply sneakers

A new line of Supreme clothing based on Daniel Johnston’s artwork came out last month, and if you want to complete a look based on the late cult songwriter, Vans and Austin’s No-Comply Skateshop have joined forces (for the second time) to release a collection of sneakers featuring his art, Sneaker News reports. The three sneakers (a Slip-On Pro, Old Skool Pro, and Authentic Pro) will be available exclusively at No-Comply on June 13, and are scheduled for a wider release at select skate shops on June 21, aka Go Skateboarding Day.

In addition to Daniel’s artwork, the soles of the sneakers feature stars and the numbers ’61 and ’19, to represent the years of his birth and death. The collection also includes a tote bag, t-shirts, and a hat, and you can take a look at it in the gallery below.

Converse also designed a sneaker incorporating Daniel’s artwork over ten years ago, but wide release of the line was ultimately scrapped. Monsterfresh points out that a few rare samples of the line exist, including one pair that the site helped send to Daniel and his family. A redditor says they bought a pair for $15 at a thrift store, too.
