Paris-born composer Daniel Wohl released his album, Holographic, earlier this year, which further developed his electro-acoustic approach to classical composition. The LP features vocal help from Kanye-collaborator Caroline Shaw and Dirty Projectors’ Olga Bell, and NPR wrote that it “quietly erases the line between electronic and acoustic music, while potentially appealing to many curious ears, from fans of Aphex Twin to followers of new chamber music.” The Boston Globe described it as “weaving complex, richly textured tapestries of sound that live in the interstices of sonic perception.” Listen to the whole album:

Whol will be performing at NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge on Wednesday, August 17, featuring support from Sam Haar (of Blondes) and GABI . Tickets are available.

Wohl debuted the material last January in NYC’s Baryshnikov Arts Center as a multimedia piece for string-quartet before touring the show around the country. It featured visuals by artist Daniel Schwarz built on custom sound-responsive software. Check out footage from a February performance below.

GABI, meanwhile, will be following up her LPR performance with a show on September 27 at Trans-Pecos supporting Fog (tickets). Blondes’ Sam Haar, meanwhile, recently dropped a solo track “Gold Coast”, which you can hear below.
