Danish band Lowly ready debut LP on Bella Union, share animated "Deer Eyes" video

Danish band Lowly make jazzy, soaring widescreen pop and released the Sink Way Into Me EP in 2015. They’ve just made a video for its single “Deer Eyes” which was directed by video artist Alice Topsøe who uses striking CGI animation for what she describes as a “depiction of human beings and their connection or rather disconnection from their physical appearance.” Say the band:

She is an artist who explores queerness and body image regardless of gender, which we thought was extremely relevant to the theme of the song and also for the times we live in. The song is about a person who’s falling apart in a very physical way, and we feel that Alice has animated the genderless figures in such a way that they both carry confidence but also a fragility as they stretch out and melt away.

That video premieres in this post and you can watch it below.

Look for the band’s debut album in 2017 on Bella Union. Lowly also have a few EU/UK dates coming up, and they’ll play the 2017 edition of Iceland Airwaves in November. All dates are listed below.
