Dashboard Confessional covered Post Malone

Just days after Post Malone took the internet by storm with his all Nirvana covers livestream (with Travis Barker on drums), Dashboard Confessional has released a cover of a Post Malone song. He took on “Circles,” the psych pop-inspired hit from last year’s Hollywood’s Bleeding, in a new Spotify Singles session, and his take is kinda cool. He makes the verses sound like a hushed Dashboard Confessional song, before getting a little more faithful to the poppier original on the choruses. He also did a new, reworked version of his own classic “Screaming Infidelities” (which turned 20 this year).

Chris Carrabba said, “We stopped by the iconic Electric Lady studios during the NYC dates of the DC20 tour. The amazing energy in the room led us to creating an exciting, new and very different version of ‘Screaming Infidelities’ and a cover of Post Malone’s ‘Circles.’ I hope you love them as much as we loved making them.” You can listen to both below.

Dashboard Confessional has also been doing livestreams lately. He did one last night for charity and debuted a new song.

For more Dashboard covers, in 2017 he released a covers EP with takes on Julien Baker, The 1975, and more.
