Daughters, HEALTH & Show Me the Body played Brooklyn Steel (pics, video, setlist)
Daughters and HEALTH have been on a co-headlining tour this fall, with support on the East Coast shows coming from genre-defying punks Show Me the Body. All three bands stopped in NYC for a show at Brooklyn Steel on Thursday night (12/19), where an enthusiastic and impressively-sized crowd was ready to mosh from the first notes of the trio's 8pm set. At one point, the band offered a free t-shirt to the first person to make it on stage; attendees barely needed the extra encouragement, and two people immediately complied. Noble Spell also joined them on stage for guest vocals during their high energy 30 minute set.
HEALTH was up next, complete with intense strobe lights and near serious hair-whipping moves from bassist John Famiglietti to augment their massive, synthy noise-pop sound. Much of the set -- which they played to a now-completely-full Brooklyn Steel -- drew from their 2019 album VOL. 4 :: SLAVES OF FEAR, but there were plenty of older tracks as well.
Daughters closed out the show with a fierce, atmospheric set that continued building up throughout the night. Vocalist Alexis Marshall is a very compelling frontman, continuously interacting with the large and moshing crowd and constantly in motion, slamming his mic and stand onto the ground to great effect. Their set pulled almost entirely from their great 2018 comeback You Won't Get What You Want, plus a few songs from their 2010 self-titled album.

Meanwhile, Show Me the Body revealed the "Room 2 lineup" of the "Corpus NYE" takeover of new Manhattan venue The Dance on New Year's Eve, which will include BEARCAT, v4p0ru, Yung Mayne, and Aguapanela Mami. The whole bill is still TBA, but Show Me the Body and Eartheater have been talking quite a bit about it, and tickets are still on sale. UPDATE: The main room lineup has now been revealed, with Show Me The Body, Lil Ugly Mane, Krimewatch and more. See it in full and enter for a chance to win tickets.
