Dave Chappelle does last minute Gramercy & Comedy Cellar shows, reschedules Broadway

After Saturday night’s (7/13) massive power outage cancelled Dave Chappelle‘s Broadway show (as well as nearly everything else on Broadway, and in the area), he announced a last minute, late night Gramercy Theatre appearance. Doors were at midnight, and it was, as all of his performances have been lately, strictly no phones allowed. Did you go? How was it?

Gramercy wasn’t the only surprise stop for Chappelle Saturday night; he also made his second appearance this week at Comedy Cellar, where he was joined by Bill Burr and Wil Sylvince. Judd Apatow was among those in the audience:

As for Dave’s cancelled Broadway show, it’s been rescheduled for Sunday, July 21 at Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, and all tickets to the Saturday July 13 show will be honored. He stayed controversial at the first show of the run; how have those since been?

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez‘s Madison Square Garden show was evacuated during the blackout, and cut short; it’s since been rescheduled for Monday, July 15, and all original tickets will be honored.
