Kendrick Lamar won Best Rap Album for DAMN., beating Jay-Z, Rapsody, Migos, and Tyler the Creator. Dave Chappelle introduced the nominees, and said:

It is an honor for me to present the Best Rap Album award this year because the genre of music means so much to me. I have so much love and respect for all the nominees tonight. And I just want to take a moment, to acknowledge -- of course -- Jarobi, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Q-Tip, sometimes Busta, sometimes Consequence, and forever and ever, Phife Dawg, may he rest in peace. Hip hop, make some noise for A Tribe Called Quest! Can we kick it?!

A Tribe Called Quest put on an intense Grammys performance last year and were notably snubbed this year for their great comeback album.

During Kendrick's acceptance speech, the rapper shouted out Jay-Z, Nas, and Puff Daddy, and yelled "Jay for president!" (just hours after our actual president called out Jay-Z on Twitter). Watch Chappelle and Kendrick's speeches below.

Chappelle also had an important role in Kendrick's powerful performance earlier in the night, and he won the award for Best Comedy Album.
