Dave Hill turning his 'Podcasting Incident' into 'Game of Thrones' podcast

Fans of comedian Dave Hill and HBO’s modestly popular dragon-based series Game of Thrones may have noticed the name “Dave Hill” in the writing credits (like on “Winterfell,” the premiere episode of the final season), and wondered “Is this the comedian Dave Hill I know and love?” There are, in fact, two Dave Hills (at least), but the comedian one is using this confusion to his advantage as he’s turned his Dave Hill’s Podcasting Incident podcast into Dave HIll’s Game of Thrones Incident. On it, he and Chris Gersbeck discuss the show and answer questions aimed at the other Dave Hill…even though neither he or Chris have seen a single episode of the series. The first episode is out now and we’ll see if they actually follow through till the series ends.

Meanwhile, Dave’s has another podcast called Dave Hill: History Fluffer, where he “gives his first-person account of different periods throughout history while Jim Biederman and Jodi Lennon call bullsh*t on most of what he’s saying.” On this week’s episode, Dave talks “all about that time he helped organize the Woodstock Music & Arts Fair in 1969.” Listen to that here. Dave Hill: History Fluffer tapes live at QED Astoria and there are upcoming tapings on May 8, 15, and 30 and June 5.

Dave Hill is also a musician and he’ll open for Broken Social Scene at Webster Hall on May 16 (tickets) and his band Witch Taint (“the most extreme Norwegian Black Metal band from Indiana of all-time!”) plays Mercury Lounge on May 23 with Satancide (tickets).
