Dave Mustaine bartended Saint Vitus, co-hosting Epiphone Revolver Music Awards at Webster Hall (Megadeth are playing)

Metal magazine Revolver and guitar company Epiphone are presenting some “music awards” this year at what they’re calling The Epiphone Revolver Music Awards, which happen December 13 at Webster Hall. It’s the seventh edition and you can actually buy tickets for it, which is headlined by Megadeth and also includes mainstream metal acts like Zakk Wylde and Lacuna Coil, among several others TBA. It also promises a “fallen heroes all-star jam” that includes Ace Frehley and Bumblefoot, among others.

Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine, who’s hosting the awards with Jose Mangin (SiriusXM), was in Brooklyn last night promoting the event as a guest bartender at the Greenpoint metal haven Saint Vitus. You can see some pics of that below.

Oh and, since this is a metal awards show, there are also naturally some nominees. The list essentially reads as a repeated list of names like Megadeth, Metallica, Black Sabbath and a few others (Meshuggah and Deftones scored album of the year nominations so, cool). It’s got some pretty funny categories like “Best Bassist” (for which Geezer Butler and Rob Zombie are nominated), “Most Dedicated Fans” (Volbeat…who knew?) and “Best New Band” (probably the only time that Nails and Babymetal will ever share an awards category). You can check out the full list of nominees below, and you can vote for the winners here if you care to do so.
