David Johansen, Mercury Rev, Martha Wainwright, Nicole Atkins & more playing climate change benefit at City Winery
On Monday, September 19 at City Winery, David Johansen will headline a big fundraiser for climate change, specifically to help put pressure on leaders to maintain the Paris climate agreements. The “Maintaining the Momentum” event also features Mercury Rev, Xylouris White, Martha Wainwright, Nicole Atkins, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Suzzy Roche, and Techung. Those performers will be joined by “Pathway to Paris” (the organization putting on the event) co-founders Jesse Paris Smith and Rebecca Foon and professor/climate change advocate Bill McKibben.
Tickets for the event are on sale now, and there are still more participants to be announced. You can check out some videos from Pathway to Paris below. In one, they describe their mission. In the others you can check out performances from a similar event put on in Paris last winter that featured Thom Yorke, Patti Smith, Flea, Warren Ellis and more.
