De La Soul

De La Soul announce 'and the Anonymous Nobody' release date, share new EP

Classic rap group De La Soul have a new album on the way, their first since 2004 (not counting the album two members put out as fictional group First Serve in 2012). The album, which is called and the Anonymous Nobody…, was crowdfunded and will be out August 26 via AOI. We mentioned back when it was announced that it will feature Damon Albarn, Little Dragon and David Byrne, and its since been announced that there will also be appearances from Snoop Dogg, Pete Rock, Usher, Roc Marciano, Estelle and 2 Chainz.

In advance of the LP release, they’ve released a new EP, which is culled from material from the sessions for the new album. For Your Pain and Suffering includes four tracks, at least one of which, a song called “Trainwreck,” will appear on the new album.

De La Soul are playing NYC fest Governors Ball in June, and then they have some European tour dates coming up.
