Pete Burns, singer of Dead or Alive, who you know for their massive 1985 hit "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)," has passed away at age 57. His family posted a statement on Twitter, saying he "died suddenly yesterday of a massive cardiac arrest." Here's the full statement:

In addition to Dead Or Alive, Pete had a solo career, was well known for his androgyny (aided by cosmetic surgery), and appeared on British reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother in 2006, which helped "You Spin Me Round" become a charting hit again.

He's survived by his civil partner Michael Simpson and ex-wife Lynne Corlett. Rest in peace, Pete.
