Franz Ferdinand have released a new song, “Demagogue,” that is very clearly about Donald Trump and features lyrics that have clearly been at least updated in the last week. “His tiny vulguar fingers on the nuclear bomb” is just one pointed barb here overtop of a typically dramatic, danceable postpunk groove. It’s also the first song they’ve released since Nick McCarthy quit the band. Listen below.

This song is part of the 30 Days, 30 Songs series which was created by writer Dave Eggers and features songs “written and recorded by Artists for a Trump-Free America.” The series kicked off Monday, October 10 with Death Cab for Cutie‘s “Million Dollar Loan,” and so far also features Aimee Mann (“Can’t You Tell?”), Bhi Bhiman (“With Love from Russia”), and Jim James‘ “Same Old Lie.” You can listen to all of them below.
