Decemberists postpone/cancel shows this week (including Prospect Park) due to Colin Meloy suffering vocal strain

The Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy has been suffering from vocal strain and to heal the band have been forced to postpone or outright cancel a few shows this week of their tour. Their BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! festival show in Prospect Park on Wednesday (6/13) has been rescheduled for August 14 (tickets), and Friday’s show at Mass MoCA near Boston has been postponed to October 4. (Refunds available at point of purchase.) On the canceled front: Tuesday’s show (6/12) in Red Bank, NJ and this weekend’s Mountain Jam appearance have been nixed entirely. Feel better, Colin! Meanwhile, M Ward, who just released a new album and was to open for the Decemberists in Prospect Park, will now play The Bell House on Wednesday (6/13) and tickets are on sale now. He’s also added a show at Providence, RI’s Columbus Theatre on 6/12 (tickets).
