Deep Purple and Alice Cooper announce tour

Deep Purple and Alice Cooper, two bands that are both staples of classic rock radio but also highly influential on heavy metal, have announced a co-headlining tour. For Purple, it'll double as a continuation of their Long Goodbye Tour. Opening all dates is veteran blues rockers The Edgar Winter Band.

The tour hits the NYC-area on August 26 at Jones Beach and August 28 at PNC Bank Arts Center. Tickets for the whole tour go on sale Friday (2/3) at 10 AM with a Citi presale starting Tuesday (1/31) at 10 AM and Live Nation/Facebook presales starting Thursday (2/2) at 10 AM.
